Dr. Nigil Haroon

Dr. Nigil Haroon is a rheumatologist and physician scientist working at the University Health Network, Toronto.

He is an Asst. Professor of Medicine and Rheumatology at the University of Toronto and supervises graduate students through the Institute of Medical Sciences.

His research focuses on ankylosing spondylitis (AS), a chronic inflammatory arthritis predominantly affecting the spine in young men and women. His clinical research focuses on identifying predictors of long term complications in patients with AS.

Dr. Haroon’s laboratory is situated in the Krembil Research Institute, a state of the art research facility in Toronto.

His research has led to several landmark findings that clarified our understanding of the cause and improved the care of patients with AS.
