President’s message

Welcome to the Canadian Spondylitis Association (CSA) Community. We are pleased to launch phase 1 of our new website! As with any website, we will continue to make improvements and ensure the website is aligned with the needs of our growing community!

Together we can strengthen our united voice to bring spondyloarthritis awareness to the forefront of society. The various spondyloarthitic diseases we live with are real but continue to remain relatively unknown to the average person. Nobody should suffer alone! It is this reason I joined the CSA as a volunteer to help make a difference in as many people’s lives as possible. We have a great team that is dedicated to ensuring that the latest research, practical advice, treatments coming to market and on the horizon are at your fingertips. We are committed to bringing programs and support to everyone in provinces across Canada.

In addition to providing education and support directly related to spondyloarthitic diseases, we recognize the importance of advocating for various policies affecting Canadian healthcare. For example, we recently advocated for reducing the price of medication, fair access to medicine, and reducing wait times for procedures. We will continue to ensure our voice is at the table regarding policy issues that affect you all.

I believe we have a solid foundation in which to grow our organization, our voice and our momentum. Please join as a member on our website – it’s free! Membership also gives you access to information, and program announcements will be delivered directly to your inbox. I also encourage you to consider becoming a volunteer with us – the more of us working together, the more we can accomplish and grow as a community.

I look forward to serving you as your president over this next couple of years, and I am excited to see our growth as a non-profit organization and what we can accomplish together! Please feel free to reach out to me at any time through email at: president@spondylitis.ca.

Thank you,

Gerald Major
President
